Joshua Reese, Owner

Joshua Reese, owner and coach, is a true Davis native. He graduated from Davis Senior High in 2007 and went on to play D-1 collegiate football from 2007 to 2012 while receiving his B.S. at the University of California, Davis, in 2011. A leader and team player, Josh captained the UCD Football team from 2011 to 2012. Josh began training in 2012 and developed a strong passion for helping others through physical fitness. He opened doors to Performance 22 in December of 2013, creating and leading group cross-training and weight lifting classes. Josh’s classes will push both your physical and mental limits, but through his energetic, charismatic coaching, he will have you believing you are capable of anything in no time!

 

As a former D-1 athlete, Josh has a strong passion for coaching student athletes, helping them to become the best in their respective disciplines, be that Women’s Basketball, Men’s Baseball, Soccer or Football. Josh is committed to giving back to the Davis community, helping student athletes at all levels. Since graduating UC Davis, Josh has worked as Assistant Varsity Coach for both Football and Men’s Basketball at Davis High. Josh has competed in Olympic Weightlifting both locally and nationally and has participated in the CrossFit Open. When Josh isn’t at P22, you can find him with his pup, Chico, enjoying time with friends and family.

Ian Marrow, Coach

Ian Marrow, coach, has been in the fitness industry for over 10 years. He has extensive background in sports performance training, strength and conditioning, and overall general fitness. Ian worked as a Club Manager locally at the Davis Athletic Club while attending the University of California, Davis. Ian leads high energy HIIT classes at Performance 22 great for any level of fitness! He has a passion for helping others and is dedicated to his clients. Ian currently coaches football at Davis Senior High. When not at P22 or on the football field, you can find Ian and his pup Kona cruising around Davis, enjoying time outdoors with friends. He is excited and eager to work with you!

Liz Fall, Coach

Liz Fall, coach, enjoys being active.  She started with dance and gymnastics, then moved on to Group Exercise classes (Boot Camp, Step, etc.), and now cross-training and weight lifting at Performance 22.  In 2014, Liz’s son, who competes nationally in Olympic Weightlifting, got Liz started in CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting. Since then every year Liz has participated in the CrossFit Open. In 2015, Liz placed 1st in Northern California in her division for scaled workouts and 604th overall Worldwide. In 2016, Liz placed 19th in Northern California in my division for Rx’d workouts and 217th overall Worldwide. Liz is passionate about encouraging others to challenge themselves and believe in exceeding their potentials!  For the past 15 years Liz has taught Group Exercise Classes. She also holds a USA Weightlifting Level 1 certification and has co-coached athletes at local and national Olympic weightlifting competitions. When Liz isn’t working out or coaching at P22, you can find her out for a long run around Davis or enjoying a smoothie at Nekter Juice Bar! Liz is honored to be part of the P22 coaching team!

Samantha Werth, Coach

Samantha Werth, coach, has had a love for physical fitness throughout her life. A former water polo player and competitive swimmer, Sam is no stranger to pushing physical and mental limits. Sam has been an active member of Performance 22 since 2014 and, through her time at P22, has developed a strong passion for cross training and helping others to achieve their fitness goals. In 2016, Sam began training in Olympic Weightlifting and since has competed both locally and nationally. Sam enjoys working with athletes at all ages and skill levels, and her focus is on coaching Olympic weightlifting as well as cross training. She loves to see her clients test their limits and works to encourage them to step outside of their comfort zone to achieve new levels of both physical and mental fitness. When Sam isn’t working at P22, you can find her at the University of California, Davis, where she is pursuing her Ph.D. in Animal Biology or you can find her exploring Northern California with her friends and pup, Trixie, on the hunt for the best Maple Glazed Donut or Tacos! Sam is excited to work with you and help you achieve your fitness goals!

Tess Compton, Coach

Tess Compton, coach, is an emergency room nurse at a local hospital. She graduated from SFSU with an MSN. When she is not out saving lives, she keeps busy with golf, softball, yoga, running, hiking, conquering Spartan obstacle courses, and coaching HIIT & KiCK.

 
Stepping in to coach H&K, when needed, is Michelle Mejia-Hayes, a high school English teacher, and Nicole Coggins, a PhD student at UCD.
